The Future For Precision Engineering [ March 9th, 2010 ] Posted in » Uncategorized

Precision engineering has taken some giant hits in the last thirty years, but despite all the battering it has received from numerous sources, it is still one of the most imperative industries the country has to deliver.

The last few decades saw the decimation and decline of some areas of engineering in this country and large, vital firms have vanished from the map. The work holes that these closures have left have been incredibly hard for communities to get over, but as people find alternative sources of revenues, the engineering capabilities and info that are lost cannot ever be recovered.

There are still enough firms working in this critical sector to keep the country as one of the enormous players in the worldwide engineering market. Indeed, thanks to the heavy pressure that it’s been under, the industry has become much more competitive and streamlined than it ever has been before.

Firms had to become much more creative to survive, and any precision engineering company that remains profit-making must be lean and mean in everything it does. All aspects of the business must be as competitive as possible. Makers must conscientiously consider how it is definitely possible to get the best out of each available resource, including work, machinery, and floor-space.

Pliability and versatility become much more urgent, and where during the past one engineer might expect to work on the same machine every day for years doing the same job, these days he’d have to be skillful in a number of disciplines. Coaching and re-training across the working life has become standard, and with the price of land becoming so high, engineering workshops have to thoroughly limit the quantity of floor-space they use. Costs have to be trimmed as near to the bone as practicable, lead times become shorter and shorter, and subsequently quality has improved seriously.

What Is Mini Liposuction?

by Barry Sweezer

Liposuction can help you get the body of your dreams. Let us face it, there are some people who have been trying to lose their excess weight and despite all their best efforts, they cannot seem to eliminate that last little paunch. Enter liposuction to the rescue. Advances in cosmetic surgery have enabled surgeons to sculpt the body by eliminating these excess stores of adipose tissue (or fat). This is true of people who are generally thin but have neck fat or knee fat but then undergo liposuction and eliminate these final spots of worry. In these cases, mini liposuction is used.

What Is Liposuction?

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure where the surgeon uses a cannula and a strong vacuum to remove fatty deposits from areas underneath the skin in order to provide a more smooth looking contour. This procedure can be performed when a patient has alot of fat. However, if a patient only has a minimal amount of fat to remove, then mini liposuction is considered.

Mini liposuction is exactly what it looks like. It is exactly like liposuction but only on a smaller scale. The cannulas used are smaller and the areas of fat to be sucked out are smaller as well. Patients with a small amount of fat in certain pockets or fat in traditionally tough areas will typically have mini liposuction performed. The final advantage of mini liposuction is that it only requires a local anesthesia rather than general anesthesia which means you will be awake during the surgery and the risks are minimized.

What Patients Are Eligible For Mini Liposuction?

Liposuction is usually only performed on patients 18 years of age or older. These patients should be in generally good physical condition. If they are smokers, they will not be allowed to smoke for at least two weeks before the surgery. The reason for this restriction is that smoking constricts blood vessels. Open blood vessels will be needed after the surgery in order to deliver blood to the areas that were disturbed during the surgery.

What Areas Of The Body Are Targeted With Mini Liposuction?

This type of liposuction can be performed anywhere on the body that has a small amount of fat deposited under the skin. The neck, ankles and under the arms are perfect places for mini liposuction to be performed. The surgeon will be able to help you identify the areas that should be targeted with this type of liposuction.

Talk To Your Surgeon

Meet with your surgeon to discuss your suitability for the procedure as well as discuss your expectations for a successful surgery. You should expect to give your full medical history so the surgeon can identify and conditions that may cause an issue and preclude you from consideration. During this time the surgeon will go over your spots you want reduced along with the risks and limitations of the surgery.

Mini liposuction and its traditiona cousin, liposuction, can help you get the body you’ve always wanted. If you do your research and work with your surgeon to establish a gameplan and expectations for a successful surgery, you will be happy with the outcome.
